A Belgian elderberry Cold and Cough Syrup from Simone De Maere




1 cup dried elderberries
1 pound raw sugar

Soak dried elderberries in 4 cups water overnight. Drain berries, saving the juice. Discard berries. heat reserved juice plus sugar to 200 degrees. Boil at medium heat for 10 minutes. Cook in a Crock-Pot for 5-6 hours. Pour into glass bottles. Keep in refrigerator for storing.
